SUMMARY

The Resident Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in delivering service support and housing assistance to individuals within the Affordable Housing Portfolio. This initiative is dedicated to serving seniors and individuals with disabilities residing at various affordable housing locations. The services provided are rooted in Trauma-Informed Care, Harm Reduction, and Motivational Interviewing methodologies. This position collaborates closely with the Community Administrator at the housing site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Advocate for residents' voices, ensuring their input is integral to program development.


• Facilitate and accept service referrals from the Community Administrator, family members, service providers, and residents.


• Conduct comprehensive needs assessments through surveys, visits, and group discussions to identify and address the unique requirements of residents.


• Ensure the provision of suitable services through an equitable lens, aligning with relevant service modalities.


• Inform residents about available services and program providers, offering multiple options when feasible, while adhering to Fair Housing regulations.


• Empower residents and their families to seek necessary services to promote independence.


• Oversee and evaluate the quality of care provided by service providers to residents, advocating for their preferences.


• Maintain current knowledge of community service providers through databases such as United Way and Benefits Check-up.


• Keep accurate records of resident services and interactions, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.


• Develop and facilitate support groups and workshops tailored to resident needs.


• Assist residents in relocation and securing emergency housing when necessary.


• Provide support to team members by sharing insights and solutions to challenges, while staying informed about current practices in the field.


• Implement the Resident Services Coordinator program in accordance with HUD and organizational guidelines.


• Participate in orientations, training sessions, community meetings, and workshops to enhance professional development and best practices.


• Document all client interactions meticulously, including eligibility and demographic details.


• Uphold professionalism by maintaining confidentiality and fostering effective teamwork.


• Complete annual continuing education requirements.


• Adhere to the Social Work Code of Ethics in all job responsibilities.


• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS


• Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or a related field, or equivalent experience.


• Minimum of one year of experience working with seniors and/or individuals with disabilities.


• Willingness to obtain and maintain first aid, CPR, and AED certifications.


• Successful completion of criminal and civil background checks within 30 days of hire.


• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.


• Proficiency in Windows and database management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


• Experience in mental health services is preferred.


• Bilingual skills in languages represented in the resident community (e.g., Mandarin Chinese, Vietnamese, or Spanish) are advantageous.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE


• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.


• High proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud-based applications.


• Strong time management and prioritization capabilities.


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.


• Excellent organizational skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS


• This role is primarily office-based, requiring prolonged periods of sitting.


• Local travel may be necessary for training and meetings.


• Occasional out-of-state travel for national conferences.


• Physical demands include lifting (30 to 50 pounds), bending, reaching, and various movements associated with office work.

POSITION TYPE AND HOURS

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Compensation ranges from $21.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience. Benefits include paid holidays, paid time off, tuition assistance, retirement plans, health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, and employee assistance programs.
