About the Job

The Customer Success Renewal Specialist is a key role in supporting SAS's customer retention and renewal strategy. This position is responsible for ensuring the timely execution of renewals processes and contracts, as well as developing programs to manage customer relationship strategies and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of loyalty and retention efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and execute a portfolio of renewal contracts in an assigned territory, ensuring successful and on-time renewals for the account prior to the contract end date.
  • Develop and execute win/win negotiation strategies for medium to large account contract renewals that optimize contract terms while protecting and enhancing customer trust.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Legal, and Customer Success Managers, to secure every renewal and minimize financial attrition.
  • Identify growth opportunities and pass insights back to the business to drive renewal and up-selling from the install base.
  • Ensure that customers are set up for success while optimizing financial outcomes.
Requirements
  • Minimum of five years of demonstrated success in Account Management, Inside Sales, Renewal Account Management, or Customer Success capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline, preferably in Business, Marketing, MIS (Computer Sciences), or related field.
  • Strong focus on contract negotiation and ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Good understanding of SaaS/subscription-based renewal models, application, and sales techniques.
  • Strong negotiation and objection handling skills that allow for value-based contract negotiations at the CXO level, involving multi-year contracts as well.
  • Experience leading customer retention and adoption of a SaaS product for complex accounts/territories.
