About the Role:
Amazon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Area Manager to join our Logistics Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Process Assistants and Delivery Service Providers (DSPs) in the daily management of the delivery station.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Process Assistants and DSPs in daily management of the delivery station, including meetings, training sessions, assigning job duties, and communicating with DSPs.
- Review the operational forecast and determine productivity requirements for sort operation, manage a team group to meet all building's goals.
- Support all safety programs to ensure a safe work environment for all associates and DSPs.
- Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tools.
- Train and develop people.
- Implement Continuous Improvement Projects.
- Build bonds between all stakeholders and peers.
- Monitor and audit plans for DSPs including staffing, schedules, quality initiatives, and performance levels.
- Promote best practices and continuous process improvements across your team in areas like health and safety and productivity.
- Ensure there is on-the-road capacity for deliveries including during peak business times.
- Help to pilot new service types on-site, such as electric vehicles and cargo bikes.
- Carry out performance reviews with DSPs.
About the Team:
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles 'last mile' delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilize creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers' delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
- Experience working for Amazon or any Amazon subsidiary or affiliate.
- Intermediate-advanced English Proficiency (B2+).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field is a plus.
- 2+ years management experience in a delivery, manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
- Management of a minimum of 30 employees (including payroll, performance management, work-flow assignment).
- Interest in long-term career development in Logistics & Transportation.
- Experience working and managing 3PL operations.
- Familiar with the area and willing to relocate.
