Purpose Statement: As a key member of the Plexus team, the Application Specialist will provide exceptional customer service by resolving technical issues efficiently and effectively. This role involves driving root cause analysis to prevent recurrence, ensuring the availability and performance of core applications, and providing conceptual design expertise to solutions. The Application Specialist will also be responsible for managing the application life cycle, including patching, upgrades, security updates, and managing relationships with key third-party software suppliers.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical support and expertise to Plexus teammates through incident resolution and management.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for application-related issues, owning and managing incidents through resolution, problem creation, and root cause analysis.
  • Monitor incidents for trends and proactively recommend improvements to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Take ownership of applications with limited oversight, responsible for lifecycle management, patching, security, functional testing, and basic understanding of the application ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with third-party software vendors to manage relationships and ensure Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance.
  • Assist with the management and delivery of moderate to high-complexity projects, applying advanced knowledge to identify and resolve core problems.

Additional Accountabilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that solutions align with Plexus and customer policies surrounding key controls and compliance, such as SOX, ITAR, EAR, FDA, and others as appropriate.
  • Technical Currency: Stay current on Plexus business, industry, and IT technology trends to provide forward-looking solutions.
  • Focus on continuous improvement - personal, team, and processes. Develop, discuss, and adapt to enhancements and changes.
  • Actively participate in and sometimes lead Functional User Groups and similar meetings by sharing common problems and solutions across multiple sites/regions and providing user request updates.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • 2-5 years of related experience is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.
  • Experience in computing systems or IT support is required.
