Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operations Handler to join our team at FedEx Group. As an Operations Handler, you will be responsible for handling packages within our operations, including manual handling, sort activities, screening, and completing any related administration or paperwork.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Package Delivery and Pickup: Provide efficient and safe delivery and pickup of packages, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to customers.
  2. Package Inspection: Check packages to ensure proper labeling, legality of content, including weight and size, proper wrapping, insurance values, and special requirements for hazardous material shipments.
  3. Administrative Tasks: Provide necessary paperwork relating to the pickup and delivery of packages, such as airway bills, delivery records, vehicle condition, etc., with neatness and accuracy.
  4. Customer Service: Seek additional business from current customers; if unsuccessful, pass lead to Sales Manager.
  5. Communication: Inform Station Ops. Manager and Sales of changes in customer/competitor efforts.
  6. Vehicle Operations: Load and unload company aircraft and vehicles in a safe manner.
  7. Package Sorting: Audit size and weight of packages and boxes and sort.
  8. Safety and Security: Ensure the use of safety equipment and full compliance with FedEx safety policies, procedures, norms, rules, and practices.
  9. Vehicle Maintenance: Operate company vehicles in a safe and secure manner and perform basic maintenance (cleaning, washing, tire pressure, etc.).
Requirements
  • Education: Middle School degree/Equivalent preferred
  • Driver's License: Valid Driver's License and good driving record
  • Language Skills: Basic English Skills
  • Experience: Experience operating ramp and warehouse equipment preferred
  • Lifting and Maneuvering: Ability to lift 70 lbs and to maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
  • Shift Work: Must be able to work variable shifts
  • Vehicle Maintenance: General vehicle maintenance a plus and power and hand tools experience preferred
  • Basic Skills Test: Must be able to successfully complete Reading, Map Reading, Sorting, and Math sections of the Basic Skills Test.
  • Soft Skills: Accuracy & Attention to Detail, Planning & Organizing Skills, Problem Solving Skills, Team Working Skills
