About the Role

Avery Dennison is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Supply Chain department, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality materials and services to support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the maintenance tool crib to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Assist in identifying, assessing, negotiating, and managing suppliers and procurement agreements.
  • Transact purchases of goods and services, including maintenance, repair, and operations.
  • Communicate with suppliers to discuss quotes, price increases, and negotiate rates.
  • Maintain updated price lists to ensure accuracy in invoicing.
  • Review purchase order acknowledgements and update pricing and delivery dates in the ERP system.
  • Provide quantities required during parts shortages to ensure sourcing needs are addressed.
  • Conduct purchasing activities aligned with the supply chain philosophy and strategy.
  • Recognize and address sourcing problems in a proactive manner.
  • Collaborate with operations, materials, and procurement teams to optimize total value and complete work to support organizational goals.
  • Control inventory of MRO materials.
  • Provide information to determine the status of current orders and forecast needs for future orders.
  • Compile records of the amount, type, and value of material or stock on hand.
  • Monitor reorder points and initiate action to replenish stock.
  • Responsible for inventory levels, inventory positioning, and planned production and sales forecasts.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in inventories.
  • Coordinate with traffic, production planning, and warehouse personnel to ensure appropriate routing, scheduling, and storing of goods.
  • Oversee that materials are received, stored, shipped, and reported in accordance with established procedures.
  • Furnish reports as needed to forecast estimates and schedules related to inventory, distribution, transportation, and/or production.
  • Support, assist, and complete analyses; analyze information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Work with other functions to identify opportunities to improve the process effectiveness and improvement plan.
  • Perform various activities to backup and maintain the flow of work in the department.
  • Ensure staff is focused on process improvement.
  • Develop, recommend, and coordinate the implementation of new procedures.
  • Proactively communicate supply chain issues and provide alternatives.
  • Maintain high levels of communication within the team.
  • Partner with Operations to achieve production goals.
  • Actively participate in training to expand technical skills and improve services provided.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Materials and Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in tool crib operation, purchasing, or material planning in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience working with suppliers, including price negotiations, RFQs, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Knowledge of purchasing techniques and logistical supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated professional experience with WMS/ERP systems.
  • Well-developed written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bi-lingual ability (English/Spanish) preferred.
