**Job Summary**
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a critical role in designing, writing, and delivering software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of our services. You will work with a team of software and systems engineers on projects for users responsible for uptime, ensuring the end-to-end availability and performance of key services.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and implement automation to prevent problems recurrence and automate responses to non-exceptional service conditions.
- Participate in on-call rotations across continents, using a follow-the-sun model.
- Collaborate with the team to build and maintain a reliable infrastructure, including design, analysis, and task completion.
- Provide engineering support related to OS troubleshooting and create operational automation to assist the team in repeatable tasks.
- Support the functionality of AWS environments and contribute to reliable operations.
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering required.
- 4+ years of experience writing code and knowledge of networking tools, operating systems, and storage.
- Experience with Linux and Unix, AWS or Virtualization technologies, programming languages such as Python and Shell, and logging monitoring solutions such as Datadog or Splunk.
- Experience in participating in MIMs (Major Incident Management) and providing feedback on process improvements.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience with Kubernetes/EKS/terraform/AWS/Akamai.
- Knowledge of corporate infrastructure and operations.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-functional team.
- Customer-focused mindset and desire to guide other engineers in area of expertise.
