Job Summary
The Human Resources Manager at Vertiv is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating human resource management activities to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as employee compensation, recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer compensation, benefits, and performance management systems, labor relations, employee relations, safety, and recreation programs.
- Recruit, interview, and select applicants for required openings.
- Provide guidance to managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment.
- Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Conduct new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
- Act as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts, and helping resolve work-related problems.
- Develop and implement policies and human resources processes, such as performance management and improvement systems.
- Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices.
- Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination.
- Negotiate bargaining agreements and help interpret labor contracts.
- Prepare personnel forecasts to project employment needs.
- Prepare and follow budgets for personnel operations.
- Stay up-to-date on legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
- Develop and/or administer special projects in areas such as pay equity, savings bond programs, day-care, and employee awards.
- Contract with vendors to provide employee services, such as food service, transportation, or relocation service.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in industrial relations or business administration.
- At least seven years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- General knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel administration.
- Good judgment.
- Bilingual.
- Well-versed in supervisory skills.
- Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
- MS Office proficiency (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Labor law knowledge.
- Works with integrity and ethically.
- Effective public relations and sound public speaking skills.
- Time management and organizational skills.
