Safran Purchasing oversees non-production procurement for the entire Safran Group. This department is responsible for implementing Purchasing Policies on behalf of the Group, ensuring the efficient execution of services.
The Safran Group prioritizes reducing its carbon footprint while maintaining site competitiveness as a core strategic objective.
In alignment with these goals, Safran Purchasing is evolving and enhancing its Energy procurement framework, which includes a Group Energy Purchasing Manager, Energy Group Commodity Managers, and Area Energy Buyers across various hubs globally.
The Energy & Fluids Buyer will undertake the following responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive market analysis for assigned areas (including market structure, pricing, production mix, and decarbonization trends)
• Assist in formulating the purchasing strategy under the guidance of the Global Commodity Manager
• Track regional trends that may influence site expenditures and/or decarbonization initiatives
• Stay informed on new regulations or subsidy programs that could affect Safran operations
• Manage or coordinate RFI/RFQ processes for new energy supply needs, fluids, and renewable energy projects
• Lead contract negotiations
• Oversee the contractual management of energy and fluid supply agreements
• Monitor and report on expenditures at Safran locations
• Ensure the accuracy of purchasing data within ERP systems
Additional Qualifications
Key Competencies Required:
· Strong analytical skills to comprehend technical subjects and complex market dynamics
· Self-sufficient, detail-oriented, persistent, and inquisitive
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in an international environment
· Highly organized and methodical in data management
· Previous purchasing experience is crucial
· Familiarity with energy markets is advantageous
Educational Background and Experience
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent higher education
· Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP is beneficial
· Proficiency in English and Spanish is mandatory; knowledge of French is a plus
Job Specifics
Local travel is primarily expected during business hours, with occasional out-of-area and overnight travel anticipated.
