About the Role

Viatris is a global healthcare company that empowers people worldwide to live healthier at every stage of life. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Corporate Affairs and Access, Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing corporate affairs strategic and tactical plans to support Viatris objectives in assigned markets.
  • Identifying partnership opportunities with governments and other priority stakeholders, designing and delivering programs that address patient access to quality medicines in assigned markets, and advancing business goals.
  • Acting as a strategic CA expert, anticipating potential issues, effects of governments, competitors, NGOs, and other external action and reaction to brand, addressing policy and reputational issues, crisis management.
  • Managing policy challenges and creating strategies to mitigate risks and enable opportunities.
  • Identifying priority public policy, government affairs, and public health/patient access and communication opportunities to maximize value to the business.
  • Supporting the development and execution of the value narrative for Viatris and brands, ensuring alignment with the corporate brand narrative.
  • Coordinating with counterparts from business units, legal, commercial, medical, operations, regulatory, and within corporate affairs to ensure alignment across initiatives and issues.
  • Identifying relevant trade association and other entities, and owning relations with these associations to advance key policy priorities.
  • Developing tools to support public affairs strategy implementation by country and establishing metrics to track effectiveness.
  • Ensuring activities are in full compliance with Viatris policy and legal obligations.
  • Coordinating with the regional Head of CA and global functional CA heads as warranted.
Requirements

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in public policy or MBA.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in public policy and/or market access, government relations, public affairs, corporate affairs, legal affairs, communication, media relations.
  • Experience in assigned market is required.
  • Strong financial acumen and knowledge of pharmaceutical market is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills: ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, communicate at highest level of government and business and with internal cross-functional teams.
