Job Summary:

The Operations Accounting Analyst role at Citi involves applying accounting knowledge to monitor, assess, analyze, and evaluate processes and data. This position identifies policy gaps, interprets data, and makes recommendations. The role requires researching and interpreting factual information, identifying inconsistencies in data or results, and formulating recommendations on policies, procedures, or practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently posts and balances books of account, such as cashbooks, general journals, purchase registers, and general and subsidiary ledgers for an operations unit.
  • Analyzes financial reports, statements, and records.
  • Uses discretion to make recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
  • Independently researches and interprets factual information.
  • Identifies inconsistencies in data/results, defines business issues, and makes recommendations on policies and procedures.
  • Applies good knowledge of company practices and standards.
  • Exchanges information in a concise and logical way and is sensitive to audience diversity.
  • Applies expense distributions for reclassification, prepares, and executes accounting entries.
  • Monitors daily the figures of account statements and cost centers to identify deviations.
  • Prepares and reports monthly and annual accruals.
  • Applies non-creditable taxes.
  • Prepares and creates invoices by sales.
  • Provides daily accounting operation metrics and summary.
  • Executes the validation and scanning documents for invoicing vendors in the payment procedures.
  • Documents and stores physical data in the scanning process.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in an accounting and administration role.
  • English language - intermediate.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions based on risk.
  • Strong communication and influence skills.
  • Ability to interact with diverse partners and leaders.
  • Able to take complex and abstract information and formulate into clear and concise messages delivered to all levels and audiences.
  • Ability to manage, juggle, and prioritize diverse projects/assignments.
  • Strong process orientation and analytical/problem-solving skills, good judgment, and common sense, high degree of initiative, dedication, and integrity.
  • Able to work independently and knows when to escalate issues.
  • Advanced experience with Excel, Access, Word, and Power Point with regard to manipulating large amounts of data, performing analysis, and creating reports for various levels of management required.
  • Awareness of financial, analytical, and reporting tools.
