Job Summary

Viamericas is a leading financial services company offering international money transfer, bill payment, and check processing services. We are seeking a highly skilled accounting professional to support our department by performing day-to-day accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and direct payroll procedures to ensure compliance with laws and tax obligations.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
  • Stay up-to-date on new legislation impacting payroll and ensure payroll is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Review and amend payroll policies and procedures as required.
  • Prepare payroll-related documents and maintain employee data systems.
  • Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements and support internal and external audits.
  • Resolve issues related to payroll production and handle reconciliations and general ledger.
  • Assist with AP coding and GL coding.
  • Maintain confidentiality and perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Controller, and/or Finance Director/CFO.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Ability to work well under rigorous deadlines.
  • People management skills and the ability to work on a team.
  • Accurate documenting skills and attention to detail.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Problem analysis and ability to problem-solve.
  • Risk assessment and decision-making.
  • Competent IT skills, particularly proficiency with payroll software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and human relations skills.
  • Able to demonstrate good organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail oriented and thorough.
  • Excellent numerical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Demonstrate ability to adhere to strict confidentiality.
  • Bilingual Spanish and English.
Working Conditions
  • General office working conditions.
  • Weekend availability is required during the end of month closing.
