General Summary
This role represents the initial level of expertise, applying knowledge across multiple areas of specialization. The work is conducted within established professional standards and policies. The incumbent will tackle a variety of challenges where data analysis necessitates the evaluation of distinct factors. Accountability for the quality of work delivered by external suppliers is a key responsibility. The role may involve influencing individuals outside the immediate team to achieve objectives and resolve conflicts effectively. Inaccurate decisions or failure to meet targets could adversely affect operations and performance goals. Guidance is primarily received on unique or complex issues. The position may lead a project team or work group, offering advice and direction in their area of expertise while seeking to build and maintain both internal and external relationships.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will perform tasks including, but not limited to:
- Overseeing compliance with the site’s IMMEX program and identifying potential enhancements.
- Developing and maintaining import/export policies and procedures to ensure adherence to customs and trade regulations.
- Conducting training sessions to raise compliance awareness among site personnel.
- Understanding product classification requirements for import/export and ensuring effective communication of any special instructions to employees and clients.
- Managing broker relationships as executed by junior staff, including performance oversight and billing.
- Responsible for process development and training related to operational improvements or changes in legislation.
- Acting as a liaison with governmental entities such as customs and trade offices.
- Collaborating with various levels of management to ensure compliance with logistics processes.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
- Strong understanding of the electronics manufacturing environment, including materials and processes.
- In-depth knowledge of traffic and customs regulations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Awareness of commercial and financial aspects, particularly concerning transportation and logistics.
- Strong analytical, financial, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex process/system issues using analytical models.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Work Environment
- The duties of this position are performed in a standard office setting.
- The role may require prolonged periods of sitting and focused visual attention on computer screens or detailed data.
- Frequent repetitive manual tasks, such as data entry, are required.
- Occasional travel may be necessary.
Experience and Education
- Typically requires six to eight years of relevant experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
