About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to perform a variety of customer-facing duties, including providing over-the-counter and phone support to customers. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for handling customer inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining accurate records and files.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with package tracing, answer questions regarding FedEx products and services, and provide over-the-counter and phone support.
  • Type or prepare various operations reports, handle customer packages in the cage, and maintain and audit records and files as assigned.
  • Check packages to ensure proper labeling, legality of content, proper wrapping, insurance values, special requirements for hazardous material shipment, and compliance with Customs documentation required at destination.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to Station Ops Manager, interface with customers on customs-related issues, and maintain a neat and clean appearance of the workplace and front counter.
  • Recognize new customers or additional business opportunities, open new accounts, obtain additional shipments, and submit sales leads.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • Spoken and written fluency in English
  • Demonstrated basic English language skills
  • One year of previous clerical or customer service experience in a service environment
  • Good general office skills, including typing, filing, and computer literacy
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and human relations skills
  • A clear and articulate speaking voice, clean cut and neat appearance
  • The ability to successfully complete the Reading, Listening, Sorting, and Math sections of the Basic Skills Test
  • The ability to lift 70 pounds (32 kg) and maneuver any single package weighing up to 150 pounds (68 kg) with appropriate equipment
  • The ability to work variable shifts

Compensation and Benefits

As a Customer Service Representative at FedEx, you can expect a competitive salary range of $35,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
