Educational Support Specialist and Cafeteria Associate

Position Overview: This role encompasses 6.0 hours dedicated to educational support and 2.0 hours focused on cafeteria services.
The purpose of the Educational Support Specialist is to assist in the supervision and instruction of students under the guidance of certified educators. This includes fostering behavioral and social skills as well as functional life skills for students with special needs. Responsibilities also include monitoring student progress, implementing instructional plans, and addressing specific health care needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Modify classroom activities and materials under the direction of certified staff to ensure inclusivity for all students with varying learning levels and functional abilities.
- Support special education students in developing classroom and daily living skills, contributing to a positive action plan for individual student challenges.
- Assist certified staff in executing a variety of instructional activities for individual students or small groups, reinforcing learning objectives and promoting academic success.
- Communicate with stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and district personnel, to provide updates on student progress as outlined in their educational programs.
- Maintain instructional materials and student records to document activities and ensure the availability of necessary resources.
- Monitor student behavior across various school activities to promote a safe and positive learning environment.
- Encourage students through positive reinforcement to help them achieve their individual goals and adhere to school-wide discipline standards.
- Address emergency situations and conflicts with students, employing de-escalation techniques and guiding towards positive resolutions.
- Transport students as needed to ensure their safe arrival at designated locations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED is required. Candidates must be highly qualified.
Cafeteria Technician Role: This position involves preparing and serving food items to students and staff while ensuring that food service areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up food items and serving areas in accordance with cafeteria standards.
- Ensure cleanliness of utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas to maintain sanitary conditions.
- Process payments for meals and evaluate food quality to ensure student satisfaction.
- Inspect food items and supplies to verify compliance with health standards.
- Manage inventory of food and supplies to ensure availability.
- Monitor students' food selections to meet nutritional requirements.
- Report any equipment malfunctions to maintain safe operations.
- Respond to inquiries regarding meal options and costs.
- Stock food and supplies to maintain adequate levels.
