Senior Business Development Manager for Small Business

About the Role
The Senior Business Development Manager for Small Business is a critical position at Citi, responsible for driving business growth and development in the small business segment. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with clients, and developing strategies to increase sales and revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively build strong relationships with small business owners, decision-makers, and other stakeholders to promote and generate business growth.
- Facilitate financial education, seminars, and outreach efforts to support small business development initiatives.
- Provide technical training on lending programs and products to external partners and internal teams.
- Manage and cultivate relationships with external clients to increase lending penetration in assigned areas.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement strategic plans for business development.
- Perform deep dive research on new business prospects, including company research, financial analysis, and deal background.
- Assemble business plans for high-priority prospects, including competitive landscape analysis, SWOT analysis, differentiation strategy, and detailed prospecting plan.
- Coordinate market research requests and activities for prospects, including brand data analytics and mystery shopping.
- Prepare prospect meeting presentations and maintain prospect database.
- Create monthly retailer performance dashboards for key prospects and existing clients.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in financial services, with a focus on financial planning.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to produce high-quality plans within defined timelines.
- Solid relationship-building skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Certifications such as CFP or Series 7 preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Citi offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
