Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our team in Mexico, driving the transition to cleaner energy while meeting the demands of today and tomorrow.

About the Role:

This is a key position that requires a deep understanding of the natural gas market in Mexico and international experience. You will be responsible for managing commercial relationships, customer service, and contract management for assets in Mexico.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commercial relationship and customer service teams for assets in Mexico, including contract management and negotiation.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior leaders on business risks to business unit assets in Mexico and their contractual impact.
  • Advise and coach business development and JV teams during negotiations with CFE on new contracts or systems expansion projects.
  • Represent TC Energía before the Energy Regulatory Commission, developing a regulatory strategy to ensure asset operations continuity and optimization in Mexico.
  • Participate in forums discussing commercial and regulatory issues for the natural gas industry in Mexico.
  • Manage the regulatory team responsible for requesting, maintaining, or modifying transport permits for current assets in Mexico and new infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with permit obligations.
  • Develop succession and staff development strategies to ensure the continuity of business activities for the commercial performance and regulatory team in Mexico.
  • Submit proposals to senior management regarding commercial solutions based on national and international contractual and regulatory frameworks that allow the development of new business or services.
  • Collaborate with other business unit teams in Mexico, Canada, and the United States to address customer business requirements in Mexico.
  • Ensure billing processes for services provided by the business unit in Mexico follow-up with customers and collection are carried out according to contract terms and conditions.
  • Responsible for budget approval and tracking processes, following company guidelines and policies.

Requirements:

  • Excellent leadership and management skills, including coaching and developing departmental staff capabilities.
  • Ability to provide strategic advice and guidance on multi-company projects from a business and regulatory perspective.
  • Ability to manage contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to generate business strategies addressing customer and interconnected party needs.
  • Ability to propose, develop, and implement solutions to complex project-related problems.
  • Ability to influence, work effectively, and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to adapt to changing mandates, ambiguity, and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work, gain cooperation from, and influence senior management.

Educational Background:

  • College degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, actuary, business, or related field; a master's degree is highly preferred.
  • Significant and proven commercial experience in the regulated natural gas pipeline industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the natural gas market in Mexico and preferably international.
  • Proven network relationships with key players in the energy market in Mexico.
  • Demonstrated at least ten years of experience in previous leadership roles or equivalents.
