About This Role

The Customer Data Steward North America role is a key position within the global data governance team, responsible for maintaining alignment with Enterprise Data Governance's (EDG) processes, rules, and standards to ensure data is fit for purpose.

This will be achieved through the EDG Data Steward serving as the single point of contact for those creating and consuming data within their respective data domains, while driving team interaction with key domain and project stakeholders, the EDG Lead, Governance Council, other data stewards, and relevant SMEs as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promoting data accuracy and adherence to PepsiCo-defined global governance practices, as well as driving acceptance of PepsiCo's enterprise data standards and policies across various business segments.
  • Maintaining and advising relevant stakeholders on data governance-related matters in specific domains (Customer, Material, Vendor, Finance, Consumer), with a focus on business data use.
  • Providing recommendations and supporting documentation for new or proposed data standards, business rules, and policies (in conjunction with the Governance Council as appropriate).
  • Advising on various projects and initiatives to ensure that data-related changes and dependencies are identified, communicated, and managed to ensure adherence with the EDG-established standards.
  • Representing market-specific needs in Sector data councils and above, ensuring local user needs are heard, met, or addressed; voicing opinions around why proposals will or will not work for the represented market and providing alternative solutions.
  • Coordinating across the Sector (with fellow Market Data Stewards and the EDG Steward) to maintain consistency of PepsiCo's critical enterprise, digital, operational, and analytical data.
  • Ensuring that data-centric activities are aligned with the EDG program and leverage applicable data standards, governance processes, and overall best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience working with data in the specific Customer/Order-to-Cash Customer domain, associated processes, involved systems, and data usage.
  • Ability to partner with both business and technical subject matter experts to ensure standardization of operational information and execution of enterprise-wide data governance policies and procedures.
  • 5+ years of experience working with data quality tools/technologies, including strong knowledge of workflow, monitoring, and reporting functionality (desirable).
