About the Role

nVent is seeking a highly skilled Logistics Material Manager to lead our distribution operations and drive continuous improvement. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods across our network.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead Distribution Operations: Oversee the execution of distribution center operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  2. Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS): Minimize company risk and maintain compliance with EHS regulations.
  3. Transportation Management: Lead the tactical execution of transportation operations, ensuring timely delivery of goods to customers while driving productivity.
  4. Logistics Partnerships: Collaborate with key carriers and suppliers to implement day-to-day operational tasks, ensuring world-class quality, cost, and service objectives.
  5. Logistics Council: Participate in the nVent Logistics Council to develop and implement distribution standard processes, policies, systems, measurements, and talent management.
  6. Technology Implementation: Implement best-in-class WMS & TMS technology, handhelds, MHE, and other technology assets suitable to the scope and size of the operations and business requirements.
  7. Distribution Network Strategy: Partner with Enterprise Logistics to develop and implement a distribution network strategy, including shared distribution center quantities, locations, and design.
  8. Lean Processes: Implement and deploy Lean processes in end-to-end Integrated Supply Chain processes, with a focus on transportation and distribution.
  9. Operational Excellence: Drive operational excellence and best practices across the network, increasing productivity by 5% per year.
  10. Quality Improvement: Develop and execute quality improvement plans for logistics, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Experience: 8+ years of experience in transportation, warehousing, and import/export compliance management.
  3. Leadership: Proven experience leading transportation operations and optimizing transportation practices.
  4. Lean Enterprise: Training in Lean enterprise principles, methodologies, and behaviors.
  5. Logistics Systems: Solid understanding of Transportation & Warehouse Management Systems.
  6. Logistics Partnerships: Experience partnering with and leading logistics service providers on daily execution.
  7. Network Analysis: Knowledge and understanding of network analysis tools.
  8. Process Management: Skill in process management, planning, and change management.
  9. Problem-Solving: Proven skill in identifying root causes of problems/issues and developing recommendations for resolution.
  10. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface with people at all levels within the organization and outside the organization.
