We are seeking a Sustainability Compliance Specialist to support our team in ensuring compliance with sustainability legislation, including WEEE, batteries, packaging, eco design, waste shipment, materials, supply chain responsibility, ESG, and the circular economy. This role will also involve supporting advocacy and engagement with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the sustainability compliance team to ensure HP product and services are compliant with sustainability regulations and legislation within the Americas Region.
  • Track, influence, and ensure compliance with legislative requirements on WEEE, batteries, packaging, eco design, waste shipment, supply chain responsibility, materials, climate, ESG, and the circular economy.
  • Maintain roadmaps and dashboards of compliance requirements for the Americas Region.
  • Develop draft policy analysis and compliance instructions to keep internal teams aware of new legislation and convey key requirements to relevant implementation teams.
  • Support advocacy and attend meetings with industry associations, key stakeholders, and policy makers to ensure HP is a trusted advisor in the policy-making process and help shape constructive policy proposals.
  • Support the AMS Compliance Lead in maintaining and improving compliance processes, reporting, and records management, as well as supporting compliance improvement projects.
  • Support local waste classification and compliance for the Planet Partner Program cartridge recycling program in the Americas.
Requirements
  • Passion for sustainability and drive to make a positive difference.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with a significant sustainability or environmental policy focus.
  • English and Spanish language skills (fluent).
  • Enthusiasm, ability, and willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Ability to understand sustainability policy and compliance requirements.
  • Strong quality orientation, rigor, and attention to details.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to keep track of tasks and ensure completion on time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to enable support for advocacy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage fluid situations, prioritize, and take action with calm and efficiency.
  • A curious mind and analytical approach to develop new ideas, proposals, and solutions.
  • Strong team-working skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direct day-to-day supervision.
