Job Summary: Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Product Line Support Manager to lead the daily activities and assignments of the Product Line Support (PLS) engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the PLS engineering team, including Lead Engineers, Master Designers, and Supervisors.
  • Report status on PLS team assignments, prioritize engineering requests, projects, and engineering to various cross-functional teams based on business needs.
  • Support the engineering aspects of cost-out activities.
  • Ensure the proper design procedures and processes of the engineering team.
  • Contribute to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements.
  • Coordinate project activities with other operating or engineering units to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion.
  • Review project-related documentation to ensure its accuracy and compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in determining project objectives to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design/product improvements.
  • Provide technical soundness of design decisions and product changes to facilitate manufacturing, reduce cost, substitute material, improve quality, and accommodate special customer needs.
  • Prevent and correct manufacturing issues that affect product functionality or impact design intent.
  • Coordinate certification processes.
  • Support existing manufacturing processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams in the design of new manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain quality specifications and design intent of existing products.
  • Conduct laboratory tests according to product requirements.
  • Control and maintain deviation systems and CO processes (Enovia).
  • Responsible for Product Data Management (PDM) processes.
  • Responsible for project development for product improvements.
  • Coordinate with other departments to maximize the use of information, skills, and resources.
  • Work with manufacturing plants on plans, processes, and strategies to accomplish trouble-free introduction of products into manufacturing.
  • Request capital as needed in projects.
  • Support PROLaunch on new product development and product line transfer as needed.
  • Comply with EQMS, Lean, and Pro-Launch procedures and policies.
  • Provide professional development and growth opportunities to reporting VAVE resources, responsible for team performance.
  • Manage laboratory, build prototypes, and evaluate samples of products under development and/or complaints.
  • Support plant CI initiatives, actively participate in Gembas, LPA, OpA.
  • Team representation at the Site Leadership Meeting.

Qualifications:

  • Education level: Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Years and area of experience: Minimum of 5-7 years at similar positions.
  • Skills: Technical knowledge, MS Office, familiarity with AutoCad & Inventor, Solid Works, AS400, drawing interpretation, SPC, Lean Six Sigma & DFSS, ISO9000, project management, experience with certification agencies (UL, CSA), metal forming & assembly experience.
  • Soft skills: Thinks and Acts Strategically, Get results, Build Organizational Capability, Understanding of Eaton leadership Model.
