About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our team at the Kion Group AG. As a key member of our Solution Design team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing large scale material handling solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of material handling solutions, including the creation of 3D models and proposal drawings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to generate executable system concepts and ensure project requirements are met.
  • Produce material lists and project scope of work summaries to ensure accurate project planning and execution.
  • Submit quote requests and validate vendor quotes in conjunction with procurement teams to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Apply standard subsystems, designs, and modules to solutions where appropriate to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, and establish priorities to promote effective interaction between departments.
  • Lead technical review and pricing reviews to ensure project deliverables meet client expectations.
  • Responsible for all project engineering efforts for assigned projects, including technical, cost, and contracting aspects.
  • Capable of recognizing and understanding when to apply standard subsystems and modules to optimize system performance.
  • Able to apply value engineering principles to optimize the effectiveness of the system where possible.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field, such as mechatronic engineering, systems engineering, application engineering, or industrial engineering.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design, machine controls, warehouse control software, and customer operations.
  • Experience with bulk handling, case conveyor, PLC control systems, WMS/WCS software, linear sortation, crossbelt sortation, ASRS & unit load, structural experience, pallet conveyor, monorail, simulation, and autostore.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple projects and deadlines.
