**Job Summary**

Under the supervision of the QA Manager, this role is responsible for conducting routine and non-routine tests on in-process samples, finished products, ingredients, and manufacturing supplies to ensure their quality and acceptability. The successful candidate will be responsible for storing and evaluating samples in compliance with the sample retention program, maintaining accurate records of analyses, and communicating results to supervisory and production personnel.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Conduct routine and non-routine tests on in-process samples, finished products, ingredients, and manufacturing supplies to determine their quality and acceptability.

• Perform special tests and projects related to the operation as required.

• Use, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on standard laboratory equipment for performing routine and non-routine analyses.

• Compare test results and disseminate information as required.

• Input data into a computer system for maintaining a permanent record of all finished analyses, out-of-specification reports, and end-of-month reports.

• Compare test results with current specifications and advise supervisory and production personnel of problems and/or out-of-code situations. Make recommendations as to cause and resolution of problems.

• Evaluate results and independently ensure accuracy before alerting supervisory and production personnel.

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and housekeeping in the laboratory work area.

• Prepare standard solutions for running routine and non-routine tests.

• Perform related analyses and assignments as required.

**Requirements**

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.

• Minimum 3 years related work experience.

• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.

• Basic computer skills.

• Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.

• Ability to interpret graphs and read measurements.

• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

• Basic microbial knowledge helpful.
