Job Summary
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is seeking a dynamic Electronics Hardware Architect - Electrification to join our team. This role involves analyzing, developing, documenting, and allocating hardware architectural designs for new and innovative power electronics products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop hardware block diagrams, including ASIL decomposition and cybersecurity control mechanisms.
- Create Product Mechanization Drawings (PMDs) and allocate hardware requirements.
- Define interfaces for hardware design and document hardware blocks, including sub-blocks where applicable.
- Establish bidirectional traceability between Hardware Requirements and Hardware Blocks.
- Analyze hardware architectural designs to ensure they are defined, consistent, and compliant with HW requirements.
- Perform CS vulnerabilities analysis and hardware design verification using a combination of methods per ISO-26262.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field, preferably electrical engineering.
- 3-5 years' engineering experience; however, preference will be given to those with 5+ years' experience.
- Experience with Polarion or other equivalent tools.
- Familiarity with general lab equipment, Scopes, Meters, Debuggers, and knowledge of safety analysis for automotive systems, ISO 26262 Functional Safety, DFMEA, FMEA, FMEDA, and FTA analysis.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Some travel (less than 10%) and flexible work schedule on occasion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with electric/hybrid vehicles, electric drives, and electric machine controls.
- Knowledge of ASPICE, JIRA, AGILE, and familiarity with development of automotive embedded systems, system simulation, and modelling tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
- Familiarity with development of on-board diagnostics, design approaches to meet functional safety requirements, structured problem-solving techniques, automotive data buses (e.g., CAN), and automotive microprocessors.
Additional Duties
- Work with customers to establish and capture requirements in documents or models.
- Collaborate with design teams to establish requirement traceability in requirements management tools.
- Assist customers in product design for safety by creating required ISO 26262 supporting documentation and testing.
- Work with design teams to create Product Definition Documents to capture and define product requirements and implementation.
- Support product development bench equipment.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum based on location and experience.
