Job Summary
Nasdaq is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, including licensing and technology transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with sales, operations, and product teams to ensure Company objectives are met.
- Provide legal guidance and support to our internal businesses and operations around the world.
- Keep up to date with regulations that impact Nasdaq products and services.
- Represent the company's positions in commercial matters without close supervision from senior lawyers.
Requirements
- Law Degree (e.g., in the U.S., the Juris Doctor degree).
- At least 4-6 years' experience, preferably at a top law firm and/or in-house.
- Experience drafting and negotiating license agreements.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of other disciplines across multiple regions.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of the legal and business aspects of licensing data, including regulated data, alternative data, indexes, financial information, software, and/or technology products and services.
- Experience drafting and negotiating contracts for complex commercial transactions.
- The ability to analyze complex contracts and effectively communicate with internal clients.
- Knowledge of intellectual property and data privacy/data security.
