Position Overview: The role entails overseeing the strategic procurement and sourcing of both direct and indirect materials, as well as indirect services, within the framework of site procurement. Building robust relationships with suppliers is essential to ensure seamless production operations. The individual will identify and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing the performance of designated spending categories. A key aspect of this position involves analyzing controls and procedures to guarantee organizational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that local business requirements are met through a reliable supply of goods, equipment, and services while adhering to compliance standards, legal regulations, and internal policies.
  • Execute daily operational purchasing tasks efficiently, including order processing for materials and services.
  • Drive value creation by implementing category strategies for the procurement of goods and services, focusing on optimizing cost, quantity, timing, and quality.
  • Monitor adherence to pricing standards in the local business plan to minimize negative price variance.
  • Facilitate sourcing events and manage Purchase Orders/Requisitions.
  • Protect the commercial and legal interests of the local business by establishing purchase contracts and managing supplier disputes.
  • Collaborate with the Centralized Procurement Team to onboard new vendors and update Vendor Master Data as necessary.
  • Work alongside Supply Chain to ensure accurate updates to procurement-related Material Master Data and maintain vendor master data, terms, and conditions.
  • Utilize advanced analytical skills to partner with Site Leadership on service level agreements, supplier challenges, and material planning.
  • Establish ongoing Vendor KPIs/Supplier Scorecards and collaborate with suppliers to enhance performance.
  • Enforce procurement regulations, procedures, and financial policies.
  • Implement global category strategies at the local level.
  • Educate stakeholders and local budget owners on applicable procurement compliance guidelines.

Collaboration with Elanco Global Procurement:

  • Review quotes and contract terms, escalating to Elanco Global resources when necessary.
  • Support the Quality team in supplier compliance initiatives, including maintaining approved supplier lists and addressing quality complaints promptly.
  • Analyze MRP reports and process purchase orders for material requirements from approved suppliers.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure timely availability of materials to support operational schedules.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Planners to maintain inventory levels aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Provide market intelligence to mitigate supply risks and enhance competitive advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role (Procurement/Supply Chain/Logistics).
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Extensive experience with sourcing modules in SAP/Ariba or other ERP systems.
