In this position, you will oversee and manage the entire shipment lifecycle for intricate and strategic accounts, acting as a primary point of contact for customers and a knowledgeable resource.

As an International Logistics Specialist, your role will be vital in managing and directing the complete shipment lifecycle for your designated accounts. You will ensure that all customer needs are met with precision and efficiency. Your responsibilities will encompass executing and supervising tasks for each shipment, maintaining daily communication, generating reports, and managing correspondence. You will take full ownership of your accounts, driving their success through proactive and dedicated service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

Ensure Operational Excellence:

  • Comprehend the processes, documentation, and terminology involved in international shipping from the issuance of purchase orders to the delivery of cargo.
  • Understand and input relevant financial components of shipments to ensure accurate billing for customers.
  • Utilize industry knowledge and critical thinking to adapt processes and create solutions in response to challenges both internally and externally.
  • Execute and coordinate tasks on shipments to fulfill all customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): booking approvals, processing pre-alerts, governmental filings, executing delivery, ensuring proper invoicing, etc.
  • Create, maintain, and update shipments in Navisphere, ensuring accurate data.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of pricing and provide quotes based on customer and network needs.
  • Offer tracking and tracing services to customers and generate shipment documentation.
  • Ensure a high level of data integrity within shipments: acknowledgment of shipment details, INCOterms, routing, dates, documents, etc.

Build Relationships:

  • Foster strong relationships with customers, responding promptly and following up on issue resolution.
  • Communicate clearly, timely, and effectively with customers, agents, C.H. Robinson offices, and external vendors.
  • Promote a positive working relationship among all team members.
  • Participate, as necessary, in new customer implementations and business meetings.

Additional Activities:

  • Ensure customer SOPs are maintained and adhered to.
  • Operate in accordance with C.H. Robinson, local, and global laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Undertake other duties or responsibilities as assigned based on team and/or country-specific requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Global Forwarding.
  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal).
  • Strong experience working with automotive accounts.

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in Purchase Order Management.
