About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Analyst to join our Corporate Research team in Rio de Janeiro or Mexico City. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality research and analysis on corporate strategy, asset portfolio quality, and alignment, peer benchmarking, valuation, and the energy transition.

You will work closely with our upstream, costs, and commodities teams to develop a market story that is objective, integrated, and data-driven. Your expertise will be essential in communicating complex information to a wide range of clients, including integrated energy companies, national oil companies, focused E&Ps, mining companies, utilities, renewables companies, investment banks, and institutional investors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the energy sector, including corporate strategy, asset portfolio quality, and alignment, peer benchmarking, valuation, and the energy transition.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to deliver high-quality reports and presentations to clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop a market story that is objective, integrated, and data-driven.
  • Communicate complex information to a wide range of clients, including integrated energy companies, national oil companies, focused E&Ps, mining companies, utilities, renewables companies, investment banks, and institutional investors.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, developments, and best practices.
Requirements
  • 2-10 years of experience in upstream oil and gas, oilfield services, energy finance, or investment, or strategy consulting.
  • An educational background in engineering, geosciences, economics, or finance.
  • Advanced analytical skills, curiosity, and a passion for upstream energy and its role in the energy transition.
  • Excellent English writing and synthesizing skills, with the ability to put together impactful analysis and create visuals conveying an interesting story.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate a view along with the arguments and data that support it.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment and with ambiguity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships with people at all levels in an organization.
