About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Support Engineering Operations Manager to join our team at Amazon Web Services Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of operations engineers and drive operational excellence across our site and globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and Execute Business Priorities: Develop strategic goals for the team, plan and document key projects and initiatives, and track progress against goals to ensure the team remains focused and unblocked.
  • Team and Performance Development: Manage team performance and careers, mentor team members to maintain a well-rounded and world-class organization.
  • Operational Excellence: Uphold and drive operational excellence across the site and globally, identifying and owning local and global initiatives to optimize our customer-focused operational teams.
  • Recruiting and Hiring: Attract and hire top talent to join our team.
  • Customer Advocacy: Be the voice of the customer, working with internal AWS resources to ensure customer SLAs are met, and raise internal awareness of customer-impacting issues.
About the Team

Our Support Engineering team resolves complex technical issues for our customers, ranging from general guidance to deep dives on AWS services. We develop our own tools and interact heavily with our peers to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: In Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ Years of Experience: Managing engineering teams.
  • Technical Background: Working knowledge of protocols (HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP) and cloud service offerings (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication in English, within technical and business settings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA: In an engineering or IT-related discipline.
  • Technical Experience: In AWS services.
  • Customer Escalations: Experience handling large enterprise technical customer escalations.
  • Systems Administration: Experience with Web services, systems administration (Linux and/or Windows), Networking, Java, Perl, Ruby, and Python.
