Business Development Manager

(Fintech | Partnerships | Payments | Financial Services)

Overview

Our client is a fast-growing fintech company operating across multiple Asian markets. They provide digital financial solutions and are expanding their local partnership ecosystem. We are seeking an experienced
Business Development & Partnership Manager
to drive commercial growth, manage key external partners, and support internal stakeholders with strategic business insights.

This role suits a proactive, commercially minded professional with strong negotiation capabilities and experience within the financial services or payments ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Partnerships

  • Lead business development initiatives and manage partnership pipelines.
  • Identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities in the financial services ecosystem.
  • Develop and execute partnership strategies that enhance market penetration and business growth.

Third-Party Partnership Management

  • Manage relationships with key external partners, including:
  • Banks and financial institutions
  • Payment gateways and processors
  • Telecommunications partners
  • SMS and routing service providers
  • Ensure service stability, monitor performance, and resolve partner-related issues.
  • Act as the main liaison between the company and strategic partners.

Commercial Negotiation & Contract Management

  • Lead commercial discussions and negotiate contractual terms with partners and vendors.
  • Review and negotiate service level agreements (SLAs) and commercial conditions.
  • Manage disputes and maintain positive, long-term partner relationships.

Market Intelligence & Industry Engagement

  • Conduct regular visits to partners for relationship building and intelligence gathering.
  • Participate in relevant industry events, conferences, and exhibitions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory updates.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product, operations, compliance, and finance teams to ensure smooth partnership execution.
  • Provide timely updates to internal stakeholders on partner performance and business opportunities.
  • Support internal teams in achieving commercial objectives.

Qualifications

Experience & Knowledge

  • Experience in business development or partnership management within fintech, financial services, payments, telecommunications, or related industries.
  • Established networks with banks, payment providers, data service providers, or telecom companies is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex partnerships and drive commercial outcomes.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to close commercial deals independently.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and highly accountable.
