The Senior Accountant will be responsible for leading the timely and accurate preparation, analysis, and review of financial and accounting information across multiple functional areas. This role requires advanced analytical judgment, strong organizational discipline, and the ability to operate with limited supervision while supporting the accounting close, financial reporting, and internal control environment.

The Senior Accountant is expected to serve as a key contributor to the accounting team, partnering cross-functionally with department leaders and supporting continuous improvement of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with department heads and operational leaders to understand financial activities and ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial reporting.
  • Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly financial statements in accordance with the established close calendar.
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, U.S. GAAP principles, and internal control requirements.
  • Analyze variances, trends, and key financial drivers; provide clear explanations to management.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on best practices and technical matters.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as requested by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (required).
  • 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting and month-end close processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial analysis).
  • Experience working with ERP or accounting systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Prior experience supporting audits and interacting with external auditors preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

El Contador Senior será responsable de liderar la preparación, análisis y revisión oportuna y precisa de información contable y financiera en diversas áreas de la organización. El puesto requiere alto criterio analítico, autonomía operativa y un fuerte enfoque en el cumplimiento de procesos de cierre contable, reporteo financiero y controles internos.

Este rol actúa como un colaborador clave del equipo contable y como enlace con líderes operativos para asegurar la integridad y confiabilidad de la información financiera.

Responsabilidades Principales

  • Colaborar con jefes de departamento y líderes operativos para comprender las actividades financieras y garantizar la exactitud y consistencia del reporteo financiero.
  • Liderar la preparación, revisión y análisis de los estados financieros mensuales conforme al calendario de cierre.
  • Elaborar y revisar pólizas contables complejas, conciliaciones de cuentas y reportes de soporte.
  • Asegurar el cumplimiento de políticas contables internas, principios de U.S. GAAP y controles internos.
  • Analizar variaciones, tendencias y resultados financieros, proporcionando explicaciones claras a la administración.
  • Apoyar auditorías internas y externas mediante la preparación de información y atención de requerimientos.
  • Identificar oportunidades de mejora en procesos contables, controles y eficiencia operativa.
  • Guiar y apoyar a personal contable junior en mejores prácticas y temas técnicos.
  • Participar en análisis financieros especiales y proyectos estratégicos según se requiera.

Requisitos

  • Licenciatura en Contaduría, Finanzas o Economía (indispensable).
  • 4–7 años de experiencia progresiva en contabilidad.
  • Sólido conocimiento de contabilidad de acumulación y procesos de cierre mensual.
  • Dominio avanzado de Microsoft Excel (tablas dinámicas, fórmulas, análisis financiero).
  • Experiencia con sistemas contables o ERP.
  • Alta capacidad analítica, organización y manejo de prioridades.
  • Capacidad para trabajar de forma autónoma y colaborar con equipos multidisciplinarios.
  • Experiencia previa en auditorías internas o externas (deseable).
  • Inglés avanzado
