About Nonprofit Marketing Nerds

Nonprofit Marketing Nerds is a U.S.-based marketing agency serving nonprofits, associations, and foundations across the country. We act as Fractional CMOs and strategic marketing strategists and doers. We are collaborative, nerdy, kind, direct, and serious about quality. We care deeply about clarity, accessibility, and strategy. We also believe marketing should actually work.

Our team is distributed across the U.S. and Latin America, with a strong presence in Mexico City. We use Asana, value self-direction, and trust people to own their lane.

The Role

We are hiring a Hybrid Social Media Manager + Copywriter to take real ownership of creative content across social media, email marketing, and web copy.

This is not a junior role. This is not a posting-and-scheduling job.

You will be the person who ensures content is not just written, but written well. Clear, compelling, on-brand, and ready for delivery.

You will collaborate closely with our account managers, graphic designers, video editors, and leadership team while owning the words, the details, and the final polish.

What You'll Own

  • The creative vision of 3-4 clients
  • Social media copy for nonprofit and association clients, primarily LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook
  • Email marketing copy including newsletters, campaign emails, and automated sequences
  • Website copy support for service pages, landing pages, and messaging updates
  • Content editing and refinement for tone, clarity, accessibility, and strategy
  • Formatting and preparing content for platforms like Mailchimp, Flodesk, Salesforce, LinkedIn, and Instagram
  • Collaborating with our creative studio so copy and visuals work together seamlessly
  • Using AI thoughtfully to work efficiently while maintaining a strong human voice

You are not expected to design or edit video or design graphics. We have specialists for that. Your lane is words, strategy, and polish.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong copywriting and editing skills across email, social, and web
  • Ability to take a rough draft or half-baked idea and turn it into clear, compelling copy
  • Experience with email marketing platforms like Mailchimp, Flodesk, Salesforce, or similar
  • Comfort formatting content for final delivery across platforms
  • Thoughtful use of AI tools to support efficiency and creativity
  • High attention to detail and pride in clean, polished work
  • Self-directed, organized, and reliable
  • Comfortable working in Asana and collaborating with a remote team
  • Experience with nonprofits, associations, or mission-driven organizations is a strong plus

This is a hybrid role based in Mexico City. You will work with a U.S.-based agency serving U.S. clients, alongside a global team.

Fluent English is required.

Pay: From $36,000.00 per month
