What do you get to do in this position?

This role will have primary responsibility for U.S. financial system support, as well as involvement with reporting solutions.  This role will work closely with Finance, Operations and IT to problem solve and drive solutions.  We are on a journey to change our legacy BI landscape and drive more value from our data for the business.  On the reporting side, Tableau is our primary reporting visualization tool, and working knowledge of Tableau will be beneficial.

This role will be critical to the success of how the company uses its information going forward. 

 The most critical aspect of this role is a robust understanding of databases and SQL\: mapping user requirements into relational models, rapid prototype and ad-hoc development of procedures and functions, creating views for production models and users and maintaining development databases. The ability to create, maintain and use complex queries is required.  Database platforms will include\: Amazon Redshift, PostgreSQL, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server with emphasis on SQL.

 Adept at learning new systems\: the role will be required to quickly understand new systems and relate them back to a common architecture model and act as the central subject matter expert with the technical teams.

 Basic financial and accounting acumen will be critical to translating financial reporting requirements into reporting solutions.

Education Required\: Bachelor' s degree (Engineering, Finance, Computer Science degree preferred)Experience in Database platforms\: Amazon Redshift, PostgreSQL, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server with emphasis on SQL.Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to apply knowledge and creativity to resolve standard and complex issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  The ability to work with finance, accounting and operations teams to understand, document and translate their needs and then work with the technical development teams.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people from various disciplines.Strong project management, organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail.  Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes.Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure on-call environment.Relentless passion for independent learning\:  The tools and needs for data change rapidly and we need to push ahead of the curve. It's expected that you are always improving, bringing new ideas to the table and learning to make better use of the existing tools.A results oriented individual who thrives working in a fast-paced environment.Some travel may be required.
