Overview

Rain Bird is a leading irrigation manufacturer, with high growth ambitions for its operations in Mexico which constitutes one of the key irrigation markets in the region. The General Manager of Rain Bird Mexico is both the leader and the manager of the business entity.  This person will be responsible for achieving sales and market share growth objectives and ensuring smooth and profitable operations. This person will hire and coach staff effectively to best support growth objectives and set high customer service standards



Responsibilities

Achieving sales and market share goalsAchieving the subsidiary's P&L, budget, and margin targetsSetting, implementing, and executing strategic business planHiring, leading, developing, and coaching a talented team of professionals in Sales, Operations, Service; justify and hire additional positions, as the business growsDeveloping the staff as well as implementing effective succession planning and performance managementBuild and enhance relationships with key customers, influencers, and stakeholders in the marketManaging effectiveness of operations including inventory level and accuracy, customer service, purchasing, import/export, A/P and A/R, information systems and compliance Identifying, prioritizing, and pursuing business broadening opportunities throughout the region Work closely and collaboratively with the different Strategic Business Unit (SBU) in the US to ensure that Rain Bird Mexico needs are supported as well as the country adequately supports the SBUs' objectives

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant fieldMinimum of 8 years of experience in management including P&L responsibility as well as leading sales teamsStrong and proven record in driving high business growth and in change and people managementStrong leadership skills (ability to train, motivate and develop a team)Fluency in English and Spanish, strong written and verbal communication Computer skills including working knowledge of Word and ExcelWillingness and ability to travel Highly energetic and motivated person with an ambition to succeed

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with a US company with international business experienceMBA degree preferredExperience in irrigation or other engineered products sold through a distributor/dealer networkExperience working in a multinational, matrix environmentInterest as a potential next step to take an international business leadership position.
