Position Overview
The Senior Bilingual Operations Lead owns the day-to-day operational backbone of Papaya Tutor. You will ensure that schedules, data, systems, and people are aligned so our tutoring programs run smoothly across dozens of schools.
You'll work in a fast-moving startup environment with high trust, high accountability, and limited hand-holding. You will help build structure where it doesn't exist yet.

What You'll Actually DoOperational Ownership
- Own tutoring schedules, student rosters, and session accuracy
- Support school onboarding and new program launches
- Ensure nothing "falls through the cracks" across teams
- Act as a go-to operational connector between people, systems, and tech
Data, Systems & Dashboards
- Maintain and improve multiple databases, dashboards, and trackers
- Work heavily in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Forms, Calendar)
- Ensure data accuracy across attendance, performance, and KPIs
- Spot inconsistencies before they become problems
Leadership & Team Support
- Support and guide operations team members
- Assign tasks, review outputs, and hold work to a high standard
- Collaborate closely with Curriculum, Onboarding, Quality, and Tech teams
Process Building & Optimization
- Identify inefficiencies and fix them
- Create, improve, and document SOPs
- Help standardize workflows and train new team members
Problem Solving & Communication
- Troubleshoot scheduling, system, and data issues in real time
- Communicate clearly, calmly, and professionally—even under pressure
- Translate operational or technical issues into clear next steps
Our Ideal Candidate
This role is for someone who:
- Is bilingual (English & Spanish) with strong written and verbal skills
- Is extremely organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Thrives in ambiguity and doesn't need constant direction
- Takes ownership and follows tasks through to completion
- Cares deeply about team success—not just individual tasks
- Is comfortable saying "I'll handle it" and actually doing it
- Enjoys building systems, not just following them
Required Qualifications
- 2–4+ years experience in operations, education operations, project management, or similar
- Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (especially Google Sheets)
- Experience managing multiple dashboards, databases, or systems at once
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience coordinating workflows or supporting small teams
- Reliable internet connection and computer
- Ability to collaborate primarily on U.S. Central Time
Employment Type & Benefits
- First 3 months: Independent Contractor
- After 3 months:
- Healthcare stipend: $150 USD / month
