Under the day to day supervision of the Site Controller, the Finance Assistant is part of a training effort designed to provide a structured yet flexible environment in which the Associate is exposed to all aspects of the Container business via formal courses, multi-site on-the-job training, special projects and one-on-one feedback from leadership. The Finance Assistant is generally one of two salaried financial personnel at the manufacturing site.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
While actively engaged in developing the skills needed to successfully transition to a position of increasing responsibility, the Finance Specialist will support the plant controller and staff. Primary areas of focus include internal controls (safeguarding company assets); preparing financial statements in conformity with professional, regulatory, and company procedures; supplying timely and meaningful analytic data that measures business results and provides useful insights to management; identifying opportunities and recommending solutions to business problems; and supervising, training and developing best practices in the accounting staff.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

- Education - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with a minimum of 12 hours of accounting
- Self-starter with excellent written, oral, and listening skills
- The ability to work effectively with others and participate on teams
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Fully Bililngual - (Spanish/English)

TECHNICAL / FUNCTIONAL:

- General and cost accounting, including financial close processes and financial statement preparation
- Internal controls identification, maintenance, development and assessment
- Analytical & financial skills including budgeting, forecasting, key performance measures, working capital management and special projects
- Information systems use, oversight and management.
- Knowledge of sales & marketing and distribution processes
- Knowledge of quality improvement and manufacturing processes (root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations)
