The Senior Manager Advanced Purchasing will be responsible for leading a team of advanced purchasing specialists for assigned product lines within the Electrification Division in North America. This leader will have accountability for sourcing execution & components introduction, meeting bill of material targets, project milestones, cost savings and department budgets. The individual will be responsible for people development, focus on a strong team dynamic and provide leadership support to direct staff and executive leaders.
**Job description**:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the direct team member & manage the department KPI’s
- Assure in-time and in-target sourcing
- Support new business acquisitions by providing most competitive cost
- Partner with R&D to drive and develop design to cost
- Drive supplier & components localization in North America
- Drive and deliver cost savings, quality improvements, and improved delivery performance by cross functional cooperation with R&D, Quality and Operations
- Represent purchasing in steering and executive board meetings
- Manage existing and build new supplier relationships
- Establishes and executes risk mitigation strategies to ensure ongoing business continuity
- Build collaborative and effective stakeholder relationships with all business units. Leverage relationship to drive decision making for complex sourcing decision / supply chain challenges
**Job requirements**:
- Ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization
- Ability to engage with Senior Executives and deliver clear and concise presentations and messaging
- Experience with identifying and developing new supplier business partners
- Experience with building and leveraging complex strategic internal relationships
- Experience in technical and commercial negotiations
- +5 years of leadership experience in purchasing
- 10 years of working experience in purchasing
- Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time
