**Summary of Position**:
Reporting to the Regional HR Manager, the Human Resources Generalist performs a variety of tasks in administration of the collective HR function. Key duties include, but not limited to, employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, coordination of pay/benefits, leave administration, process improvements, and compliance for Standex Engraving North America in Mexico.

**Essential Duties**:

- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Works closely with Union representatives and employees to ensure compliance to union contract in a timely manner.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, involving union representatives when necessary.
- Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Plans and Implements new hire orientation and onboarding.
- Promotes and supports company wide and/or corporate sponsored events such as benefits open enrollment, salary planning, and surveys
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of human resources policies, forms or documents.
- Answers employee questions about human resources policies, processes, or offering
- Processes employee status changes, new hires and terminations/separations
- Performs tasks/executes role with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Administrative Support in creation of training plans, job descriptions, presentations
- Acting as a liaison between employees and functional departments as needed(i.e., corporate benefits, payroll, operations, etc)
- First level analysis of processing issues (i.e., pay error, benefit enrollment error, etc.) and liaison between employee and related functional department to ensure resolution (payroll, benefits, etc.)
- Supports and promotes health and welfare plans
- Prepares and submits requests for approval via docusign as needed
- Provides Headcount and turnover reports and statistics to HR Leadership and Plant Management.
- Assisting with the performance review and termination processes
- Champion of employee events/activities committee locally may support the standardization of Engraving activities in future
- Provides input, makes recommendations for resolution and process improvement
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

**Knowledge and Skills**
- Strong oral and written communication skills and organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Highly knowledgeable of local and federal employment laws and requirements
- Able to independently assess situations independently to determine priority/urgency
- Strong problem-solving ability: actively seeks solutions and communicates effectively to a variety of stakeholders and personalities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and internet navigation
- Extremely confidential; models integrity and company values/policies
- Ability to manage tasks to complete them within required deadlines

**Experience and Education**
- Minimum of 3 years in a comparable role within a Human Resources department (general or specialized role)
- Bachelor’s degree with an HR major; Associates Degree HR may be considered in lieu with appropriate experience
- HR Certification is desirable
- Ability to speak basic English fluently is required
- Prior experience working with Union
