Maintenance, Repair and Operations Buyer

This position will be responsible for order placement transactions, follow up on open orders, and collaborating with receiving to ensure timely receipt processing. Typical assignments related to consumable components. The MRO Buyer withing TJL serves at the primary owner of the supplier relationship and collaborates / coordinates information across multiple functional groups that can include Engineering, Operations, Planning, and coordination between the America’s Supply Chain groups.

General Responsibilities
- Assists with maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis
- Participates in the filling of purchase orders
- Participates in the development of creating an accurate and efficient monitoring system
- Assist with entering data into databases or other computerized systems to maintain up-to-date supplier and vendor information, to track purchases and the status of orders and deliveries, and to generate purchasing reports and statistics

Experience / Qualifications
- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
- Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
- Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
- Exposure to supplier evaluation and supplier visits

- Min-Max Calculation
- Cost Saving Opportunities
- Participate in Product and Project Meetings (as required or assigned)
- Resolve discrepancies found by the finance department between the purchase order and the vendor invoice.

SKILLS/ REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Supply Chain/Engineering would be advantageous
- Negotiation Skills
