About This Role
Responsible for the acquisition of financial grants from institutional, national, and international donors (foundations, corporations, bilateral cooperation agencies, United Nations agencies, global funds, development banks), in accordance with the established work approaches and methodologies for the area and the guidelines of strategic and operational plans, which finance the implementation of special projects for the country office.

Required Experience and Education
Include required and preferred qualifications related to advanced education, certifications or licenses, and work experience.

EXPERIENCE:

- At least 10 years of experience working with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), preferably in the child and/or youth protection and welfare sector.
- At least 5 years of experience developing funding proposals for institutional, national, and international donors, securing 5- and 6-figure grants (US dollars).
- Acquiring and managing cloud-based databases specialized in operating grants.
- Creating and managing account, opportunity, and project records in the Salesforce CRM platform.

KNOWLEDGE:

- Trends in national and international grant markets.
- Regulations and compliance requirements of bilateral institutional donors (United States Federal Government agencies) and multilateral organizations (United Nations agencies, European Union, etc.) are preferred.

EDUCATION:

- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, International Development, Business Administration, or other relevant field of study. Relevant work experience may be acceptable and equivalent in lieu of a degree.

CERTIFICATIONS:

- Proof of English language proficiency provided by an international exam for non-native speakers (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) is preferred.
- Proof of English language proficiency is preferred in the design of social projects and/or the preparation of grant proposals for bilateral international cooperation agencies (diplomas, certifications, specializations, etc.).

Primary Responsibilities
Manage procurement strategies:

- Evaluate market trends for financial grants to fund the implementation of child protection and welfare projects in Mexico, based on market analysis or research.
- Determine the organization's resources and competencies necessary to be eligible and competitive in donor competitions for financial grants, according to the most common requirements.
- Design and execute strategies for the acquisition or renewal of grants established by the guidelines of the Country Strategic Plan and the Level of Financial Achievement (LOA) established within the current Annual Operating Plan for the country office.
Capture grant opportunities:

- Obtain annual memberships and accounts to online platforms with information about grant opportunities for civil society organizations (indexed databases, listings), and subscriptions to electronic news bulletins.
- Proactively search for grant opportunities using previously obtained memberships, along with other electronic information sources such as institutional donor directories; private mailing lists; and philanthropic press (magazines, forums, newspapers) (mapping).
- Capture calls for economic grants from the Business Development Division (BD), the Global Corporate Partnerships Division (GCP) of the International Office (OI), from the Senior Management Team (SMT), and/or from the digital channels of the country office (website, social media).
- Participate in events, whether in-person or virtual, to identify grant opportunities from potential institutional donors, both national and international (informational sessions, conferences, forums, seminars, etc.).
- Record grant opportunities in OI's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform, SalesForce, attaching necessary documentation, requesting approvals from the relevant leaders, and keeping the records updated.
- In coordination with the Country Director, manage the portfolio of grant opportunities from institutional donors: identified, evaluated, processed, discarded, canceled.
