The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
 

Develops & maintain safety, health and environmental, standards, and procedures. Promote safety, health & environmental and security education company wide. Responsible for implementation, communication and coordination of all safety, emergency response, and fire protection programs Responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and optimizing operational processes in the areas of environmental management, health protection and occupational safety. Conducts job Safety Analysis and ergonomic assessments and incorporate learnings and best practices into training programs and work instructions. Reports audits results and recommend corrective actions and or preventive measures where needed. Perform period environmental monitoring and sampling, with data analysis to determine the extent of occupational health hazard exposures. Ensures proper compliance of safety documentation in accordance with state and federal laws and corporate regulations or requirements as well as STPS, and related requirements. Responsible to conduct periodic internal audits and lead the efforts tours compliance to regulations. Responsible to lead external audit preparations and audit taking efforts. Provide advice and guidance to facility leadership on the interpretation and application of acts / regulations / requirements related to EHS. Serve as Process Safety Management Element Lead for Safe Work Practices and High Hazard activities. Process Risk Analysis Conducts investigations relating to all safety incidents, ensures proper notification process is followed, provides analysis on root cause, and works with site management on corrective action. Acts as the primary investigator on behalf of the site relating to all safety incidents. Research new regulations and developments in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and implements. Demonstrates and promotes felt leadership engagement and has an active physical presence across the site. Facilitates effective sharing of information across organization. Creates an atmosphere of awareness, engagement, and commitment to zero.
 

The following is required for this role

Bachelor’s degree (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical or Engineering programs preferred, with preference to Safety) Bilingual: Spanish/English Minimum 3 years’ experience in EHS&S (Environmental, Health and Safety) Ability to take initiative, self-manage, identify what is needed and take effective action to bring about change and lead/implement change while demonstrating Chemours' core values Exceptional and proven communication skills, both oral and written Proficiency with analytical tools to help gather and analyze data

The following is preferred for this role

Experience leading EHS improvement in chemical, complex, or high hazard operations – including Emergency Response, and PSM leadership. Sound technical and regulatory based safety and process safety management knowledge, including knowledge of regulations, laws, and standards (specifically STPS, PSM Regulations and Protection Civil Plans) First aid/ CPR, evacuation procedures, chemical handle, high hazard activities Experience working in a union environment. Ability to anticipate, plan, develop, implement, audit, and improve sustainable systems and processes in the EHS field. Strong background on safety risk analysis. Medium to Strong Background in Ergonomics.
