Position Summary:

Manages the production segment or department across shifts, ensuring the manufacturing of products in planned quantities, at budgeted cost, safety and of desired quality. Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports; Sets and monitors the performance of the plant to ensure that the plant meets its current and future production targets and quality standards. Monitors speed, cost, quality and safety metrics. Optimizes the talent within the segment structure and fosters an environment to promote individual and team growth and career development goals, Liaisons with associated business leader and functional leadership (e.g. Human Resources, Quality, Supply Chain, and Technology) in order to ensure strong communication between manufacturing and its counterparts; monitors the cost and effectiveness of production activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and achieve volume, quality, and manufacturing standards, Implements policies and procedures to ensure safety, quality, delivery and cost reduction goals are achieved.

Major Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and direction in Manufacturing operations. Daily production control. Analyze the production schedule. Customer service (RK, PK, Stock Availability, GSB Stock, P due Open Orders) Scrap control, work on projects to reduce it. Lead activities related to production and volume increase projects. Short, medium and long term work plans. Controls and ensures a correct schedule of overtime, complying with the maximum budget assigned to this segment. Responsible for compliance with and enforcement with quality policies and procedures, generates and maintains the records of quality metrics of assigned segment. Lead daily gembas (Self assessments) in the areas assigned in order to focus on 5S’s, Safety preventions, Visual management, productivity improvement, etc. Provide daily projections of expected output for the week to PM (Volume, P. due, Absorption, Previous day Productivity, root causes, action plan, etc) Responsible for ensuring the effective development and implementation of EHS programs in their segment.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or related field required. Master's Degree preferred. Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt certification required.

Experience:

7 years demonstrated experience with increasing responsibility in successfully manufacturing teams.
