Senior Finance Analyst, New Product Development

Visión general:The Senior Finance Analyst for New Product Development (NPD) will support the International Fittings division by providing financial analysis and support to the Research and Development team for the Lixil International Fittings Organization. This role will be responsible for analysis, reporting, and analytical duties for the strategic investments of Fittings. This position will prepare the financials for business cases, and capital investments related to new products and product extensions. This individual will work closely with Project Managers as well as Product Managers within Marketing to ensure a complete, validated financial result that aligns with the strategic goals of the product portfolio and the organization.**Responsabilidades**:- **New Product Development Process**:- Business partner to the Research and Development (Engineering) project managers and leaders in the Americas and potentially international- Evaluate and calculate return on investment for strategic projects including Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return and Payback Period- Prepare and present the financial evaluation for NPD projects including the financial returns, evaluation of risk, and the sensitivities to those risks- Provide support and guidance to the R&D and Marketing team with regards to the financial impact of decisions regarding pricing, volume, cost targets and investment costs- Perform Post Evaluations on projects to determine the effectiveness of the investment and document key learnings and takeaways- Review and establish the annual capital expenditure budget for New Products (Including Extensions), including responsibility for reviewing the accuracy of the Project Expenditure Authorization Requests (PEAR) that is the document for investment approvals. Ensure that investments are consistent with product thresholds, margins, and return on investments and that those results are built into the targets and budget- **SG&A Forecasting, Reporting and Variance Analysis**:- Meet with the cost center owners in the R&D Americas area to review actual, determine timing shifts and or necessary recalls of expenses- Incorporate findings into out periods in forecast by due date in finance planning calendar- Ensure that any remediation identified in the actuals process above (e.g., annual expense booked and should have been amortized over several months) get incorporated into the forecast and ensure that accounting team makes any necessary entries- Provide update on significant changes prior to the finance forecast review meetings- Comparison to Mission and Forecast- Highlight significant deviations and what is being done to gain insight into the cause- Ensure monthly accruals are made for actual activity that has not been invoiced; ensure that expenses that are offset by accrual release are not identified as source of deviation- Develop the R&D Annual Operating Plan (AOP) by coordinating the timelines and execution of the SG&A budget, NPD capital investments, and promotional budget related to projects ensuring that all outputs reconcile to corporate financial targets and results- **CAPEX Consolidation**:- Monthly reporting of Actual vs Mission Plan- Review PEARs for Corporate Functions for spending versus Mission and CAPEX vs OPEX spending and insure ROIC benchmarks are being achieved- Ensure cost center owners are aware of depreciation/amortization charges that will be charged to their cost centersRequisitios:This position requires excellent analytical and negotiation skills, experience in a manufacturing, cost accounting, and the ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Technical competencies:- BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, MBA Preferred.- 2 years of related experience- Understanding of Cost Accounting Principles and methodologies related to P&L Management, Pricing strategies and Product Costing- Experience in assisting in financial analysis for product profitability, Investment valuation and sourcing decisions- General understanding of accounting systems and procedures- Experience in Supply Chain (Manufacturing, Procurement, Transportation, Logistics)- Proven experience in Planning, Budgeting and Cost Control methods and concepts- Must have advance MS Office, SAP, Tableau skillsNon-Technical Competencies- Leadership (setting pace, decisiveness, change management, ability to influence)- Communication (verbal and written, persuasive impact, listening)- Personal effectiveness (relationship building, teamwork, interpersonal insight, conflict resolution, customer orientation)- Organizational knowledge/awareness- Experience in working in international and diverse project teams- Fact-based decision making and problem solving- Ability to work independently in a global organization across time zones (especially Europe)
