The Inside Sales Engineer (ISE) is an essential part of the selling process. The ISE provides a competitive quotation to our customer and collaborates with an Outside Sales Engineer (OSE). The ISE position has similar duties to the Applications Engineer (AE) industry position, but the ISE is heavily involved in selling strategy. The ISE is the ultimate owner of the quotation process and must have a strong foundational knowledge of Ruhrpumpen (RP) products, sales methodologies, and applications engineering processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare timely and accurate customer quotations based on customer requirements, as well as proactive offerings of value-added alternates/solutions.
- Coordinate with internal RP teams (OSE, product line teams, etc.) and external contacts such as key component sub vendors.
- Use quotation software tools, reference resources, and follow detailed RP processes.
- Work closely with sub vendors and qualify their offers to ensure alignment with RP needs.
- Understand customer’s commercial requirements and ensure RP quotation meets these needs.
- Review and understand customer’s technical requirements and ensure RP quotation addresses all necessary elements.
- Handle multiple tasks and projects, managing quotation tasks in various stages of development.
- Participate in project meetings to define the technical and commercial aspects of customer projects.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering.
- 6+ years of engineered sales and/or applications experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.
- Experience/knowledge of engineered equipment such as industrial/rotating equipment/tools.
- Experience in markets such as oil & gas, chemical processing, power generation, water transportation, & general industry.
- Desired knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, pumps (applications, sizing, mechanical operation), and pump design standards (API, HI, ANSI, DIN, etc.).
