Area Group Sales Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Group Sales Manager to join our our talented Sales & Marketing team in Mexico representing Maroma, a Belmond Hotel Riviera Maya and Casa de Sierra Nevada, a Belmond Hotel San Miguel de Allende, a true hospitality professional, with the flair to deliver service at the highest level.
As the Area Group Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to drive group business revenue for our properties in Mexico.
Main responsibilities:
- Achieve group room and catering revenue goals for both hotels in Mexico
- Personally handle sales group enquiries, prepare proposals, negotiate and convert into a confirmed pieces of business
- Carry out site visits and show off the hotel to win against competition
- Ensure compliance with all Belmond programmes, standards and procedures
- Ensure compliance with group RFP tools such as CVent and and ensure all information on these sites are frequently updated and accurate
- Acquiring, retaining and developing group business for the hotel and understanding the comp set and retrieving market intelligence.
- Analyzing, properly qualifying, negotiating, and preparing proposals, contracts, and addendums according to hotel availability and demand while maintaining price integrity and ensuring a high level of groups conversion from short and long lead requests.
- Being an ambassador for our exceptional meeting space offerings, and use your expertise to maximise yield in alignment with the strategic goals of the events department.
- Developing database of contacts of clients and ensuring regular communication and updating of hotel latest news.
- Identify, target, and solicit new group business opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key contacts in the group travel industry.
- Understand market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to stay ahead in the market.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective sales materials and promotional campaigns.
- Participate in industry trade shows, events, and sales missions to promote our properties and generate new leads.
- Track sales performance and provide regular reports to the senior management team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in group sales or similar role in the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience of handling reactive groups sales
- Strong knowledge of the reactive sales process
- Ability to work in a fast moving environment and to deadlines
- Competitive spirit and drive
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry partners.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
- Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
