Role Overview JATO is currently hiring a Front‑end Engineer in Mexico. The role is responsible for the technical delivery of the user interface of JATO web‑based software, including internal tools, customer‑facing products and their underlying services. The role will identify and implement best practice in front‑end engineering with a view to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Deliver intuitive, accessible, consistent, performant and well‑tested internal tools, customer‑facing products and underlying services. Focus on front‑end development deliverables, with close collaboration with Back‑end development and underlying services teams. Liaise with Design Team to develop and maintain a custom UI component library. Work closely with Senior Front‑end Developer to support project deliverables. Maintain a modern technology stack and modern development techniques. Align with the team on technical quality, standards, guidance and process, whilst striving for continuous improvement. Adopt agile methodologies. Collaborate with Development colleagues, Product Management, Delivery, Security, Support and Operations throughout the full software development lifecycle. Engage with customer‑focused research and usability testing. Provide adequate documentation to both the team and the business for the products and services delivered. Key Requirements Languages: HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript and understanding of OOD. Libraries and Frameworks: React (desired), Hooks, Angular/Vue.js, Styled Components. Tools: Nx, Git, BitBucket, Azure DevOps, Node.js, Storybook, Jest, Enzyme, React Testing Library, Figma (exposure), React query and React router (desired); Atlassian Suite. Front‑end Architectural Design, REST API Development, Pattern Libraries, Responsive Design, W3C Compliance, WCAG Conformance, Inclusive, Semantics, Agile Methodology, CI/CD, UX, Prototyping, mono‑repo / micro‑front‑end / microservices experience. Strong communication skills. Strong problem‑solving skills. Passionate about software engineering and constant learning. Desire to help others improve through mentoring. A good grounding in technical theory and practice. Experience in creating detailed support and technical material. Attention to detail. Respond to tight deadlines.
