Summary

The Senior Data Steward plays a vital role in a team of data stewards dedicated to maintaining the Nissan Customer Data domain. The main responsibility of the Senior Data Steward is to guarantee the accuracy of customer data by applying data quality rules to ensure its appropriateness for the intended use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure customer data accuracy and currency.
  • Develop, maintain, and support data quality rules for incoming and outgoing data in the Nissan Customer Data domain.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining data quality metrics and KPIs for the Customer Data domain.
  • Support customer data stakeholders with inquiries related to data quality and lineage.
  • Triage, process, and resolve stakeholder requests efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Governance team to ensure compliance with governance standards in the Nissan Customer Data domain.
  • Oversee the compliance process for customer data access.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to ensure the fitness for purpose of the customer database in the Nissan Customer Data domain.
  • Establish guidelines and protocols for data governance to enforce privacy controls in all processes.
  • Define retention, archival, and disposal requirements in compliance with Nissan Records Retention Policy and national regulations.
  • Implement data curation practices to sustain data integrity in alignment with established guidelines and protocols.
  • Develop and implement Master Data Management (MDM) rules.
  • Support data merging processes within the MDM tool.
  • Collaborate with enterprise and domain data stewards to foster synergies, standardization, and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

The following outline the essential skills and capabilities required for the qualified candidate.

Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency in information technologies, standards, and best practices in data governance, data quality, and data privacy.
  • Familiarity with data management principles and techniques.
  • Experience in creating and documenting policies and procedures.
  • Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to address data issues.

Relationship and Communication Skills:

  • Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels to grasp their requirements and translate them into an action plan using available tools and resources in support of the Customer Data domain.
  • Ability to engage with highly technical individuals regarding business insights to ensure appropriate solutions are developed and deployed.

Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business-related field is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years supporting data quality and data management projects in a large corporate environment.
  • Two years of experience in a data steward role.
  • Preference for candidates with automotive industry experience.
  • English Proficiency Level: Advanced (MANDATORY)

Computer Skills:

Experience with data quality and data governance tools in a Cloud-based environment is vital. Preferably experienced with the following tools:

  • Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) Analyst Tool
  • Informatica Axon
  • Informatica EDC
  • Ataccama MDM
  • Snowflake
  • SQL

Travel:

Occasional travel required. Possession of a valid USA VISA is advantageous.
