Senior Specialist Application Delivery

In this position, you will serve as the System Owner for the applications/platforms assigned within your domain. Your responsibilities will include gathering, comprehending, and documenting business objectives, specifications, and technical designs for small to medium-sized projects based on a solid grasp of business requirements. You will analyze business needs, document requirements, create test scenarios, conduct unit and system integration testing, ensure compliance with IT regulations and security protocols, manage project tasks, and provide regular progress updates. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of applications, you will collaborate with application support teams or vendors to resolve issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and resolve business challenges related to assigned applications and processes
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and other IT departments on medium and large-scale system enhancements
  • Define, design, and document business and integration flows/processes
  • Develop test scenarios/scripts, execute testing, and ensure that each test meets the specified objectives
  • Establish Standard Operating Procedures to standardize tasks for operational consistency
  • Coordinate with third parties, other IT teams, or business partners to address issues promptly
  • Assist in establishing and enforcing IT controls, validation and change control procedures and policies
  • Oversee system enhancements/releases and track project work, managing tasks independently
  • Act as a product engineer for agile or SDLC-based project teams
  • Communicate status updates, propose solutions, and address concerns within the team in a timely manner
  • Autonomously address complex problems, guide others, and provide demos to the Business on applications/platforms
  • Support Business Relationship Management (BRM) community and Enterprise Architecture (EA) in analyzing Applications capabilities and ensuring standardization
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation and management of all applications within your portfolio in various Application Inventory Systems

Qualifications

  • Effective management of stakeholders and their expectations
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve common objectives
  • Development of interpersonal relationships with team members, leaders, and customers
  • Familiarity with lean product principles, software development lifecycle, and IT compliance
  • Strong project management skills, including handling projects with internal and external stakeholders, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing tasks
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with keen attention to detail
  • Sense of urgency, strong follow-up capabilities, and ability to work efficiently in a team environment
  • Experience in collaborating with vendors and third-party providers on product features, releases, and issue resolution
  • Adaptability to work across different time zones and willingness to acquire new skills

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering
  • Over 6 years of experience in Information Systems across multiple IT domains
  • Proficiency in Software as a Service (SaaS) and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes; familiarity with Service Now or Jira is advantageous
  • Previous engagement with HR Leadership Teams, external vendors, and business partners for issue management and resolution
  • Experience in addressing complex business integration problems related to Workday cloud applications and various internal and external systems
  • Expertise in integrating core HR applications with supporting tools like Datastage, Control M, MuleSoft, and Globalscape
  • Familiarity with Web Services and APIs (e.g., SOAP, REST) for system integration
