Job LocationAbout usSymbiotics is the leading market access platform for impact investing, dedicated to private markets in emerging and frontier economies.The group offers investments, asset management and capacity building services.Symbiotics Investments focuses on loan origination and bond issuance.It currently employs 100 people and is headquartered in Geneva, with offices in London, Amsterdam, Mexico City, Singapore, Cape Town, New Delhi and Yerevan.Our affiliates in London and Amsterdam are both regulated entities, with relevant investment firm licenses for the United Kingdom and the European Union respectively.Since ****, Symbiotics Investments has originated 7,662 investments representing more than USD 9.6 billion for 579 companies in 95 countries.Who we are looking forWe are looking for an experienced and dedicated professional who will be responsible for developing and maintaining business relationships with portfolio companies in some countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, developing a pipeline of potential investments, traveling to and performing on site due diligence on these companies, analyzing credit risk, ESG risk and country risk, understanding their debt funding needs, and monitoring their financial and operational performance during the investment's life.The position is based in our Regional Office in Mexico City with reporting line to the Regional Manager.We offer a dynamic work environment in a growing industry and an opportunity to work in the social investment space with a for-profit company.About the JobDevelop and maintain key partners of countries in their portfolio, participating to the regional and country strategy.Conduct on-site due diligence of financial institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean.Write credit risk appraisals, ESG risk appraisals, investment advisory reports and country risk evaluations.Monitor global situation, opportunities and risks in financial markets of the countries of their portfolio.Develop a pipeline of investable targets in specific financial markets, including banking, MSME and impact investing sector in general.Support the development of new business opportunities in the region.Maintain and monitor a portfolio of companies, including monthly financial reporting.Your QualificationWe are looking for a dynamic and autonomous person, highly motivated by the impact investment sphere, able to work in fast growing and challenging environment and demonstrating a strong attention to detail.More specifically, you have the following skills and competencies:University degree or equivalent, preferably in a finance related fieldCFA Charterholder is a plus.Strong analytical skills with previous experience (minimum 2 years) in credit analysis, financial analysis or investment management.Professional experience or strong knowledge of Latin America.Good knowledge of the development finance or impact investing industry and proven interest for impact investing.Proven interest for emerging and frontier markets and sustainable developmentFluent in Spanish and English.Willingness and readiness to travel (up to 30%).Job OfferWhat makes us different?The chance to contribute to improving the lives of people in emerging and frontier countries, to work towards supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals.A flexible work environment with colleagues from 41 countries.The opportunity to become part of a growing business that pushes you to excel every day while having a positive impact on others.
