**Job description** PURPOSE OF FUNCTION**

It’s about attracting visitors to the stores, encouraging IKEA store visitors to stay longer and enjoy more, making it fun for everyone, offering great food with quality at the lowest prices, giving visitors a tasty reason to return again and again, and providing co-workers with a chance to rest and re-charge.

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**

My area of responsibility is the IKEA Restaurant sales areas, guest areas (including the co-worker restaurant), dish washing facility and IKEA Cafés (where applicable). I work together with my team and other colleagues in the IKEA Food management team from where I lead and manage my area to fulfil the purpose of our function by building business and people together. I strive to make people smile while providing irresistible food offers in a welcoming atmosphere that gives our guests a good reason to return again and again.

**RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB**

**Customers**
- I ensure our guests are always in focus and strive to make them smile. I meet and serve our guests showing empathy and care. I am willing to listen and support them with an attitude based on the IKEA values.
- I lead by example and am a good ambassador for the IKEA store in all contact with our guests, and I give them a good reason to return again and again.
- I always look at my store through the eyes of our customers and walk the store regularly. I have a daily dialogue with our guests to get continuous feedback about their experiences and to learn more about their needs and wants. I then take action based on their input.
- I empower and encourage my team to take immediate action to meet the needs of guests and give input on how to continuously improve our meeting with them.
- I know about the services offered in my store and use this knowledge to help guests. I ensure my team does the same.
- I ensure that we host our guests and make them feel welcome at all times throughout the day.

**Commercial**
- Together with my colleagues and manager I contribute actively in the development and implementation of a clear IKEA Food action plan for my store using the store business plan and country business plan. These are supported by input from Growing IKEA together and the IKEA Food Direction & Strategy. I also develop and execute an annual action plan for my area based on agreed goals.
- I implement the range matrix (global and national) in co-operation with the Kitchen Production Manager to secure a strong IKEA Food range identity in order to distinguish ourselves from our competitors on the market.
- I co-operate with the Communication & Interior Design (Com&In) department and the Commercial Activity Leader/Local Marketing by actively contributing to and supporting all marketing and in-store activities. I do this by integrating the Swedish celebrations and yearly focus area into the store’s Commercial Calendar, including the activity range and communication packages.
- Together with the Kitchen Production Manager, I plan and implement range changes in a simple and costconscious way. I ensure all co-workers taste and learn about new products before they are launched.
- I work to maximise commerciality in order to grow sales as well as the conversion rate and average cheque. By doing this I increase profitability according to the goals in my area. To assist me I use other appropriate tools such as the Functional Commercial Review, customer flow and the 10 Most Frequent Questions (MFQ).
- I utilise everyday commercial opportunities to attract visitors and keep the chairs warm.
- During unexpectedly quiet times I initiate commercial activities that attract store visitors and increase the take-up rate, or take other actions to secure productivity.
- I use the IKEA Restaurant & Café to initiate various activities that inspire and surprise our guests through engagement, learning and participation.
- I secure an irresistible food offer by ensuring the presentation and communication of the food and beverage range is attractive, e.g. through story-telling, live cooking, and using the IKEA Restaurant & Café as a showroom and co-operating with Com&In.
- I am passionate about my products and actively learn about their content, origins and other benefits. I share this knowledge with my guests
